Season 3 Trailer – [Client Discussion] An Inside Look at the Health Strategy Journey from Start to Finish at Third Opinion MD

Aug 15, 2023 | Podcast

Creating a Health Strategy

In Season three, all episodes will follow one guest’s journey to understand and achieve her best health potential. Each episode is recorded in a real-time sequence over the course of her 6-week consult to show how you can address your health in a more creative and individualized way.

My client, Ramey, has graciously offered to share her time and health story with you as we work together on her Health Strategy from start to finish.

This approach doesn’t exist in current mainstream healthcare, which is largely about gathering the information they want and not what you truly need.

Become a Systems Thinker

I founded Third Opinion MD so I can work with people who reach a health crossroad or want to expand their skills at self-care and navigating the healthcare system. They enroll in my Health Strategy program to get to a place of empowerment, wisdom, and hope.

And you can get there, too. It can be frustrating if you depend only on traditional healthcare’s linear approach, which tends to be one size fits all. But you can achieve greater success by becoming a systems thinker.

The Impact on Your Third Opinion

What is systems thinking for your health? It means taking a step back to look at the big picture in your life. It’s not as simple as “eat this or do that.” It’s really about trying to understand all of you with a comprehensive approach. This includes your medical history, family patterns and relationships, innate and acquired patterns of health and disease, your lifestyle and your environment.

Join me on Tuesdays, starting September 5, 2023, to explore Ramey’s journey through the Health Strategy Consult from start to finish. This approach to health is what healthcare should be and how you can achieve your healing potential.

Barbara (HOST):

Welcome to the third season of 3rd Opinion MD Podcast. I’m your host, Barbara de la Torre, and I am so excited to announce the theme of the third season, which is really how to form a health strategy when you work with me. More than ever, if you just look around you, our healthcare system is still continuing to crumble.

It’s continuing to fall apart and much less reliable, even as we come out of COVID. We just don’t have the resources to take care of everyone, and that’s why it’s so important for you to learn how to take care of yourself. And that’s what I do with the health strategy.

I want to walk you through, step by step, how I work with you to get you to where you need to be at the crossroads of your life for your health and for your wellness, because it can be really confusing out there. I have one of my clients who has graciously offered her time, her story to share with you how she works with me. We are going to work together. through from the beginning to the end of the consultation. So, you understand what it takes to form this health strategy.

It’s not as simple as eat this or do that. It’s really trying to understand all of you. And it’s a very comprehensive approach. It’s a little easier for you to come along with us for the journey so that you can really learn what I do and what the process is like.

Objectivity and subjectivity are these really interesting terms in medicine because we, we strive to be objective. That all comes from two centuries ago where doctors were, you know, at least medicine, modern medicine was about objectifying the situation because that was considered scientific.

The problem is that it took away you, the patient. The patient, the subjective experience of the patient is so critical to understanding what’s going on in their health, that if you go too far extreme to being objective. And, the doctors really want to do a good job.

That’s how they’re trained. They’re trained to be objective. You don’t want someone to be biased. That’s not the same thing. But it’s about involving you, the patient, as an autonomous, self-reliant, empowered being to take charge of your health. It is not taught to us to let you do that. So that’s what I’m trying to bring back with this Health Strategy consult program and what I do with clients, even if we take a deeper dive, but everyone who’s works with me has to go through that first.

It’s sort of call it almost like a bootcamp to become in charge again, to be your CEO of your healthcare, because it’s not even in… it’s not in the culture, and unfortunately, what you’re left with is, is to your own devices of having to find an acupuncturist or a chiropractor or someone else who’s not in the system.

No one’s communicating with each other and still you’re in this passive role, and that really bothered me. That’s one of the reasons why I really was trying to create a program like this so that people have a chance to understand and get a bird’s eye view of what’s going on and, and be a part of the, discussion.

Clients have told me that developing a health strategy for them has restored hope where the system has failed them. And that’s really what gives me joy. One of my recent clients just said this after he finished the Health Strategy consult program.

Jake (Past CLIENT):

She finds out who you are. You get a better picture of who you are as a person, your health, your background, and she’s just very easy to work with. I just find that she was just such a pleasure to work with. I’ve never had this opportunity to be able to work with somebody that’s that interested in my health and helping me with my health and not only physical, mental, everything.

Barbara (HOST):

For the last year, I’ve been working with clients to really get them to a place of power, to a place of knowledge. And you can get there. It can look daunting, but it’s about teaching you how to become a systems thinker. And you’ll know more of what I’m talking about when you listen to the third season.

If you’re at that crossroads, where you’re not sure where to turn, what direction to take, How much effort to put into something? Let’s talk. I would love to hear from you. You can reach me through the contact page on ThirdOpinionMD.org where you can schedule a complimentary consult and we can talk about your situation and see if this is the right time for you to start working on your own health strategy.
