KHT Level 1 Intensive Workshop for Practitioners

📅 2026 (Dates to be announced)
📍 Portland, OR
👥 Small class size
⏱️ Two-day intensive

KHT Basic Level 1 Course is the first course in a series to master a powerful and accessible microsystem in your hands. There are numerous Microsystems, but the KHT Hand system offers a broader range of applications for treating your patients beyond correspondence therapy. It contains a full map of the body acupoints on each hand. Almost any treatment you do for the body can be applied to the hand, including command points, mu and shu points, meridian therapy, 5-element therapy, and more!

What Past Students Say:

“Excellent instructor. Material was well organized and paced. Good learning environment was created. Giving us a kit helps us put into practice what we learned immediately. Best part of learning is experiencing the treatments themselves.”

– SR

“Small class, very hands on and practical. Lots of good discussion! Great pace! Easy to follow. I definitely plan to use KHT for the people in my life who aren’t keen about acupuncture needles.”

– NS

“Excellent addition to an acupuncture practice. Conducive to questions, hands on activities. Proximity to the airport and public transportation is a plus.”

– Susan Sorensen

“I liked her personal approach, kind demeanor, knowledge level. Good pace, good combination of hands on teaching and lectures. Good quiet location, good hotel staff. Convenient access to restaurants.”

– Mariko

Review Full Course Details

KHT was developed in 1971 by the renowned South Korean medical practitioner, Dr. Tae Woo Yoo. Korean medicine is rooted in the classical Chinese medicine tradition based on the ancient classical texts of the Nei Jing, Nan Jing and Yi Jing. This is why KHT can add a significant impact to your acupuncture practice.

While needles can be used in KHT, you can perform a complete treatment without needles and instead use silver/gold pellets, seeds, and/or moxa. This expands your practice to work with children and patients who may be averse to needles, ensuring that everyone can benefit from. Most of all, you can instruct your patients to apply your recommended treatments at home between appointments.

KHT Basic Course -- Full Details

Course Description:

KHT is a powerful type of acupuncture known as a microsystem, using a body part as a holographic map of the entire body. For pain and common functional problems, tiny noninvasive metallic pressure pellets can be applied to the hand instead of needles. Taking charge of your health, reducing doctor visits, and improving your quality of life can be simpler than what traditional Western medicine, alone, teaches you.

Course Includes:

• 17 video lessons broken into digestible segments
• Personal 30-minute one-on-one Q&A session to address your specific needs
• Complete KHT Travel Kit mailed to you ($40 value)
• 3-month access to review as needed
• Lifetime access to your recorded Q&A session and handouts

Prerequisites:

None. Entry-level for both lay people and healthcare practitioners.

Student Success Stories:

“I studied the KHT Basic videos and practiced with the kit that arrived in the mail, but the magic happened during my personal Q&A when I had real pain to address. Dr. de la Torre showed me exactly where to apply the pellets for my shoulder injury. Minutes later: pain gone. The complete package – videos, kit, and personalized guidance – transforms learning into actual healing.”

– Arlene Hougland

“The best part about the course is that you can utilize the information learned immediately, (especially with Barbara providing an initial starter kit), and experience remarkable, rapid results! I’m especially impressed that Barbara can engage and speak to an audience that has both acupuncturists and people without a healthcare background.“
